Zac Laskey Update

Starrs Mill High School athlete Zac Laskey continues to garner attention from multiple programs. After setting a school record for rushing yards in a game he recently received his first offer from a service academy and expects another as well soon.

Zac Laskey has rushed 122 times for 850 yards and nine touchdowns. He also has 5 receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns. His team, Starrs Mill, is currently 7-0 and ranked fourth in the state of Georgia by MaxPreps. Earlier in the season Laskey set a school record when he rushed for 218 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries against Alcovy.

Laskey said he is looking for a school that has solid academics and a strong football program.

"I'm looking for good academics and a football program that has a chance to win the national championship or a big bowl game," said Laskey.

Here's an update on Laskey's favorites:

Air Force- "They offered me on Thursday," said an excited Laskey. "Me and my family talked and I will probably take one of my visits to Air Force."

Navy- On Monday Laskey spoke with Navy‘s head coach.

"I talked with head coach Niumatalolo and he said they would offer, that they just have to finish up final paperwork." said Laskey. "My mom definitely wants to go up and visit Navy. I want to visit all schools that offer me."

Laskey says that he could see himself serving as an officer in the military.

Georgia Tech- "I feel that I am very close to getting an offer from Georgia Tech," said Laskey. "I went to a Tech game last Saturday and talked with Paul Johnson.," said Laskey. "He told me they were recruiting me as an athlete and to just be patient."

Middle Tennessee- Spoke with coaches on Tuesday. "I'm going to a MTSU game on Saturday," said Laskey.

Tulane- Laskey received a letter from the Green Wave staff on Thursday.

Ohio- Received a letter from Bobcat staff on Thursday.

Central Florida- Laskey received letters from the staff. He camped there during the summer.

Georgia Southern- Laskey spoke with coaches on Wednesday night. He plans to attend a game there later during the season.

Wofford- Lasky spoke with WU coaches on Wednesday night.

Furman- Laskey talks with the staff often and received a letter last week.
