Rover
Starters: Tra'vres Bush #9 Sr.
Back ups: Jimmy Britton #13 So.
Third String: Shakir Robinson #39 So.
Senior rover Tra'ves Bush is the best returning player in the secondary. Bush played in all 12 games and was the second leading tackler for the Midshipmen with 93 tackles last fall. He made two interceptions and returned one for a 49-yard touchdown against Western Kentucky. Bush earned All-East recognition by the ECAC and earned honorable mention honors on the All-Independent Team. He was named to Phil Steele's 2011 All-Independent First Team. Bush (5-10, 192) is a fast, smart, instinctive player and has improved every year. Bush was sidelined during the first week of camp with tonsillitis. He returned and played in the spring game and recorded two tackles. Navy has a number of concerns on defense but Tra'vres Bush at rover isn't one of them.

Jimmy Britton is a big (6-2, 215) safety who played in 11 games on special teams as a direct admit last year. He moved up the depth chart this spring. He is an active and physical defensive player who is quick to support against the run. Jimmy can make the big hit and is a very good open field tackler. He has above average speed for a Navy safety with a 4.61 time in the forty-yard dash.

Sophomore Shakir Robinson (5-10, 190) is a direct admit safety who played well this spring. Robinson is a very good athlete and runs a 4.5 forty yard dash. He possesses good speed and range. He is quick and changes directions well. He is surprisingly strong and is a very sound tackler. Shakir has only two years of experience at safety so he's still learning the position. He impressed defensive coordinator Buddy Green this spring with his work ethic and understanding of the defensive scheme.
