One of the highlights of the football preseason is the Fan Fest and Media Day experience put on by the Academy. The details have just been finalized for the 2012 edition of this now traditional event, and August 4th between 10 am and noon is the date for your diary (smart phone).

Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium will be the Fan Fest venue, and there will be plenty of fun to be had for all age groups. The first 45 minutes of the event will see the offensive players signing autographs while defensive players are on the field meeting fans and taking photos. These roles will then be reversed between 10:45-11:30. This will give all fans plenty of time to find and interact with all of their favorite players.

In addition to the autograph session the event will include live music, giveaways, and interactive inflatable games. Games will include football style skills competitions in addition to more light hearted fun. The first 250 kids through the doors at Fan Fest will receive a free t-shirt and admission is 100 percent free. Fans will also be able to buy all the latest Navy merchandise, as well as tickets to all games on the 2012 home schedule.

This meet and greet occurs at a great time in the Academy’s off-season program. Players will be reporting to preseason camp the week prior (July 31st) with the first practice being held the following day (August 1st). The Blue & Gold BBQ and scrimmage will be held Saturday, 11th August.

With so much going on around the team, and with expectations growing all the time within the program, the 2012 Fan Fest is an event any true Navy fan should try to attend. In college football support is everything, and there is no better time than the middle of summer to show this Midshipmen squad the strength of the Navy fan base.
