Davison set for Big 10 visit

LB Ray Davison

Encino (Calif.) Crespi has one of the state's top defenses and Ray Davison is a big reason for that.

Ray Davison plays a hybrid outside linebacker/defensive end role for the Celts and had a very solid senior season. He finished the year with 55 tackles and six sacks including eight tackles and a sack in the Celts upset win over Alemany last weekend.

"Man it felt so good to get that win," Davison said following the game. "We're a real physical team, especially on defense and they're a finesse team. The way you beat a finesse team is by being more physical and that's exactly what we did.

"Now we just have to wait on CIF to see if make it in to the playoffs. We finished 8-2 and I really think we're deserving but our league only gets two automatic berths. We have a bye this weekend but we're still going to practice and keep working hard and hope for the best."

Davison has already taken an official visit to Colorado State and will take his second visit this coming weekend.

"I'm going to Northwestern this week," Davison said. "Academics are a big part of my decision so I really like Northwestern a lot. They're in my top three along with Nevada and Boise State and I plan to visit all three schools if I can.

"I would like to take all five of my trips and then sit down with my family and figure out where the best place for me is. I'm also hearing a little from UCLA and Oregon State. Right now, I just want to see whoever wants me the most and where I can be most successful."
