Navy women to learn NCAA seed today

The Navy women's basketball team will learn of its NCAA opponent and bracket seeding today. The Women's Basketball NCAA Selection Show will be broadcast at 7 pm CT on ESPN. The Midshipmen women, who are 21-11 and are ranked No. 102 in realtimerpi.com's poll, won an automatic bid to the NCAA by virtue of defeating Holy Cross in the Patriot League Tournament Championship game on Saturday, 72-53

ESPN's bracketology projects Navy to get a No. 16 seed and play No. 1 seed Connecticut in Storrs, Conn. Collegesportsmadness.com gives Navy a No. 14 seed and projects a meeting with No. 3 seed Texas A&M.

This will be the Navy's third straight NCAA appearance. Last season the Mids lost to Maryland 59-44 in the first round. In 2011 Navy fell to DePaul 56-43 in the opening round.
