Navy official on Army and Jasper has learned that Army has not asked for permission to speak with Navy offensive coordinator Ivin Jasper.

In an email with on Monday Senior Associate A.D. for Sports Information Scott Strasemeier stated that he was not aware of any request by Army to the Naval Academy to speak with Ivin Jasper.

Jasper has been named by several publications as a candidate to replace recently fired Army head coach Rich Ellerson.

However, Strasemeier pointed out that asking for permission was only a courtesy and not requirement in these situations.

"If they are asking for permission the deal is already done," said the veteran Navy sports administrator. Recommended Stories
