Armed Forces Bowl Review: The "D" Gets An "A"

Keenan Reynolds coughed up the pigskin. Two Middle Tennessee defenders tried to rattle Navy's cage, and succeeded for three quarters. Yet, Navy's defense wouldn't allow the Midshipmen to lose another bowl game. The Buddy (Green) System worked again for Navy on an immensely satisfying Monday afternoon in the Lone Star State.

MATCHUPS MATTER… AS DOES COMPOSURE. The 2013 Armed Forces Bowl was, to quote NFL Films icon John Facenda in his narration of Super Bowl XII (Dallas-Denver in 1978), "Fiercely fought but frightfully flawed." It was a mess of a game with all sorts of penalties and far too many turnovers for Ken Niumatalolo's liking. As was the case in Super Bowl XII, one team's defense proved itself to be superior...
