"My grandpa went to the Naval Academy and since the offer he's talked a lot with me about it. I'm very impressed with what I've heard. I keep in touch with Coach Culton regularly through email and Twitter."
Attwood's other offers are from Florida International, Wake Forest, Wofford, and Youngstown State. He says he has received heavy interest from Air Force, Appalachian State, Florida Atlantic, Iowa State, Marshall, and USF.
In his second year as a starting quarterback at Ida Baker, Attwood passed for 2200 yards with 17 touchdowns against seven interceptions. He rushed for 776 yards on 136 carries with ten touchdowns. Attwood received a plethora of post-season awards including first team All-District, All-County, All-Conference, All-Area, and second team All-State (Florida 6A).
"Coming in as a sophomore starting at quarterback, I didn't deal with the pressure as well," he said. "After getting a grasp of knowing what it takes to be a leader, I feel like I stepped up big and led my team to a great season, the best in school history. We're ready to get started again with spring ball on April 24th."
While excited with his offers, Attwood expects more to come during spring ball as many D1 coaches will make their way to the school on th coast of southwest Florida.
"I'm real big on education," Attwood said on making a college decision. "I'd like to go to a program that I'd have a good shot for early playing time. I'd want to be in a place where I get along well with both coaches and the players."
At Baker, Attwood reports a 4.04 GPA. He is up for 2013-2014 Lee County Player of the Year and is coached by Brian Conn.
