COMMENTS
PASSING OFFENSE
A
Just 4 completions on 6 attempts for 108 yards but the threat of the pass opened up the Mids' rushing attack.
RUSHING OFFENSE
A+
572 yards rushing on 57 attempts and no fumbles is incredible. A definite A+ for Navy.
Shun White
and Zerb Singleton both finished with over 100 yards rushing.
PASSING DEFENSE
D-
The Mean Green's
Giovanni Vizza
completed 40 of 50 for 478 yards, 8 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Two North Texas players caught 12 or more passes.
Matt Wimsatt
and
Ram Vela
both had the interceptions for Navy.
RUSHING DEFENSE
C-
North Texas, a passing team, was able to accumulate 157 yards rushing on the Mids. Vizza carried for 98 yards.
SPECIAL TEAMS
A
Greg Veteto
had a 51-yard punt that landed inside the NT 20. Veteto aslo made a 22-yard field goal.
Reggie Campbell
had a 73-yard kickoff return late in the fourth quarter.
COACHING
A
Another super effort by the Navy coaching staff. They seem to know how to win; the fact that they are able to do so with such a young, inexperienced defense speaks highly of them
OVERALL GRADE
A-
Who needs a defense when you can score 74 points in a game? A simply amazing performance by the Mids. Navy fans will still be talking about this game in a 100 years. Next up is
Northern Illinois
. Look for the Huskies to open it up through the air.
