While the offense played well, especially in the first half, the key to the win was the performance of the often criticized Navy passing defense. The Mids intercepted four Riley Skinner passes and scored all 24 points off those turnovers.
While snaring four Deacon passes, the spirited Navy defense was also able to limit Wake Forest to only 39 rushing yards on 30 attempts.
Eric Kettani led the Mids in rushing, picking up 175 yards on 19 carries. Navy gained 292 total rushing yards during the game.
Navy (3-2) will travel to rival Air Force next Saturday. Wake Forest (3-1) will host Clemson on October 9.
