Navy lost to Pittsburgh on September 19, 27-14. Each week GoMids.com recognizes a top offensive player, defensive player and unsung heroes. Look inside to find out which players GoMids.com honors this week.

The Navy Midshipmen fell to 1-2 on the season with a 27-14 loss at Pittsburgh. Navy could never get untracked offensively, as they were held to 129 yards rushing and only 218 yards of total offense. The Mids return to action on September 26 at home vs. Western Kentucky. The game also will mark the rededication of Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK


FB Alexander Teich


Teich led the Navy offense with 12 carries for 80 yards. His 42-yard carry in the 2nd quarter was a season-best ground gain for the Mids.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK


LB Ross Pospisil


Pospisil had 14 tackles, including a half-sack (shared with Chase Burge), as he led a Navy defense that held Pitt to only 126 yards rushing on 37 carries.


UNSUNG HERO OF THE WEEK


S Wyatt Middleton


Middleton was second on the team with 9 tackles (including one for a loss of 3 yards), forced a fumble, and had a quarterback hit.
