Navy came from behind to defeat SMU in overtime, 38-35. Each week GoMids.com recognizes a top offensive player, defensive player and an unsung hero. Look inside to find out which players GoMids.com honors this week.

The Navy Midshipmen improved to 5-2 on the season with a 38-35 overtime win at SMU on October 17. The Mids will host Wake Forest for Homecoming on October 24.


FB Vince Murray

Murray took advantage of SMU's defensive strategy to take away the perimeter to the tune of 141 yards on 25 carries. Murray also had 2 TD's and a long rush of 52 yards.


LB Tyler Simmons

Simmons had 7 tackles on the day, including one for a loss of 4 yards. Simmons also broke up a pass.


DE/NG Michael Walsh

Walsh was pressed into action at nose guard for the second straight week and notched 3 tackles and a pass break-up. Despite being undersized at only 251 lbs., Walsh held his own against the much bigger SMU line.

NOTE: No player can be named POTW more than three times during a season. Players also cannot be named POTW for two consecutive games.
