Midshipmen improved to 8-3 on the season with a 35-18 win vs. Delaware on November 14th. The Mids have a much-needed week off before traveling to Hawaii
on November 28th.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Whenever you score 5 touchdowns and break the single-season Navy TD record, you earn POY honors (rules be damned). Dobbs carried 26 times for 100 yards and was also 4 of 6 passing for 78 yards.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tuani had 8 tackles, including 1.5 sacks, and forced (and recovered) a key second half fumble. His strong play on the line enabled linebackers Ross Pospisil
, Tony Haberer
and Craig Schaefer
to flow to the ball and rack up 29 tackles from their LB position.
UNSUNG HEROES OF THE WEEK
It seems like Delahooke finds his way here every week, but his punting has been one of the Mids' bright spots all year. It's a shame he was not listed as one of the finalists for the Ray Guy Award. Delahooke only punted twice for a 43 yard average, but both kicks put Delaware inside their own 20 yard line and helped tip field position in Navy's favor.
: No player can be named POTW more than three times during a season. Players also cannot be named POTW for two consecutive games.
