The Navy Midshipmen fell to 0-1 on the season with a 17-14 loss vs. Maryland on September 6th in a game played at M&T Bank Stadium. The Mids racked up 485 yards of offense, but failed to score on four trips inside the Maryland 20.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK


SB Gee Gee Greene


Greene had 7 carries for 74 yards and also caught four passes for 59 yards. He also had a key block that sprung Andre Byrd for a TD in the first half.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK


S Wyatt Middleton


Middleton had 12 tackles and recovered a fumble in leading a Navy defense that held Maryland to 272 yards of total offense and only 90 in the second half.


UNSUNG HEROES OF THE WEEK


KR/FB Alexander Teich


In what was a surprising bright spot, Teich returned four kickoffs for 107 yards (26.8 yd avg.), continually putting Navy in decent starting field position.

NOTE: No player can be named POTW more than three times during a season. Players also cannot be named POTW for two consecutive games.
