Navy Bye Week Ideas

The Mids have a Saturday off this weekend as the bye week strikes. The bye coming in the middle of the season is actually a pretty solid scheduling technique as it allows the team to heal up and refocus before the run begins to the end of the season with the visit of San Jose State next weekend.

Navy offer in for Memphis product

Jordan Williams received his first offer from Navy in the summer on his way to an Under Amour combine in Alabama. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound quarterback prospect is off to an outstanding start to his senior season at Whitehaven High School in Memphis, Tenn., and is hearing from quite a few D-1 coaches around the country who may soon be joining Navy with an offer of their own.

Three Keys Revisited Navy vs VMI

Sometimes you are the wrong opponent at the wrong time. That is exactly the situation VMI walked into last weekend as the Keydets got run through by a Navy team angry that their 2-4 record wasn’t far closer to 6-0. The Mids had been in every game they had lost to this point and the intensity showed from the start as Navy got scoring from all parts of the team to race out to a 37-7 half time lead.

Three Keys Navy vs VMI

The 2-4 Mids take on another military squad on Saturday as they square off against the Keydets of VMI. With a loss in the race for the Commander-in Chief’s Trophy and a season that is quickly unraveling at seams, this visit of an FCS squad that just got blown out 55-7 at Chattanooga might be just what the doctor ordered.

Rice planning visits

The three service academies are each making a strong push for Josh Rice, a 6-foot-1, 280-pound offensive lineman out of Lake Nona High School in the Orlando area. Rice took an unofficial visit to Colorado Springs during the summer and is looking to set up official visits to Army and Navy after the conclusion of his season.

Breathing In The Deep: Navy's Challenge

Navy men learn how to survive in deep waters, and that’s the obvious image for Navy’s current football season. A team that has been sinking and losing hold of its winning edge is no longer trying to get the 10- or 11-win season some had hoped for on the morning of Aug. 30, 2014. Right now, Navy’s job is to survive.
